City Updates and Community Events
The City of Sunny Isles Beach continues to keep residents informed about various local matters and upcoming activities. There are several traffic alerts for residents to be aware of. A significant roadway improvement project by the Florida Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin on June 30, 2026, along State Road A1A Collins Avenue which is expected to last approximately six months. Additionally, a sidewalk closure is in effect southbound at 19370 Collins Avenue twenty four hours a day until Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Looking ahead on the community calendar, the city will hold a Special Magistrate Hearing on June 25, 2026, at the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center. For those looking for relaxation, a free rejuvenating Full Moon Yoga class will be held on the beach on June 29, 2026. The city also continues its community outreach, with recent town halls focusing on topics like college affordability.
Real Estate and Construction Updates
The Sunny Isles Beach skyline continues to evolve with major luxury residential projects moving forward. The dual tower St. Regis Residences and the innovative Bentley Residences, featuring a patented car elevator, are progressing toward their anticipated completion dates around 2026. These projects represent the pinnacle of branded luxury living, attracting a global clientele. In addition to these ongoing constructions, the City Commission has approved what will be the tallest building in Sunny Isles Beach, a 62 story condominium tower at 19051 Collins Avenue. This new development will replace the older Miami Beach Club building and will feature 145 luxury residences. While new construction forges ahead, the market for existing luxury condominiums is experiencing a noticeable shift. A mid 2026 market report indicates that inventory has increased and properties are remaining on the market longer, creating a more favorable environment for buyers and leading to more price negotiations. This dynamic suggests a new phase for the city’s high end property market, presenting fresh opportunities for prospective homeowners and investors.
Beach and Ocean Conditions
For residents and visitors looking to enjoy the coastline, conditions in Sunny Isles Beach are currently favorable. On Sunday, the Sunny Isles Beach Ocean Rescue division reported green flags, indicating calm conditions. The air temperature was a warm 88 degrees Fahrenheit, with the ocean water temperature at a very pleasant 85 degrees. The UV Index was at 10, which is very high, so beachgoers should take all necessary precautions against the sun. Recent water quality tests also provide good news. The latest samples taken at Samson Park on June 15 and posted on June 18 show that the water quality meets safety standards, making it safe for swimming and other recreational activities. The city provides daily updates on its website, including a live beach camera, ensuring everyone can stay informed about the most current conditions before heading to the sand.
