City Continues Focus on Community Engagement and Safety
The City of Sunny Isles Beach continues its commitment to resident services and public safety. A recent town hall meeting was held to provide information on financial aid, scholarships, and college applications, reflecting the city’s dedication to educational opportunities for its younger residents. In civic matters, a City Commission Workshop was recently conducted to review the current agenda. The city also proudly announced that Vice Mayor Jeniffer Viscarra received the 2026 Home Rule Hero Award from the Florida League of Cities for her advocacy during the recent legislative session. To improve local transit, a new city bus application with enhanced features has been launched, aiming to make travel within the city more convenient for everyone. Residents should also be aware of a current traffic alert for a northbound lane closure at Bayview Drive and Collins Avenue to 191 Collins during late night hours on select days.
New 62 Story Condominium Tower Approved
A significant development is set to change the Sunny Isles Beach skyline with the city commission’s approval of a 62 story oceanfront condominium tower. The project, a collaboration between The Related Group, Dezer Development, and BH Group, will be located at 19051 Collins Avenue. This new structure will replace the existing Miami Beach Club, a two story building from 1951. Upon completion, the approximately 820 foot tower is expected to be the tallest building in Sunny Isles Beach. The development will feature 145 luxury residential units, ranging from three to six bedrooms. This project is part of a larger trend in the area towards branded luxury residences, with other notable projects including the Bentley Residences. The continued development of such high end properties solidifies Sunny Isles Beach’s reputation as a premier location for ultra luxury oceanfront living.
Beach and Ocean Conditions
With sunny skies and warm temperatures expected, beachgoers can anticipate pleasant conditions. The Atlantic will likely offer calm waters, suitable for swimming and other recreational activities. As always, it is advisable to check for any posted advisories at the beach. The city’s live beach cams at the Newport Fishing Pier offer a real time view of the conditions for those planning a visit. Strong sun protection is recommended for anyone spending extended time on the sand.
