City Celebrates Historic National Milestone
The City of Sunny Isles Beach is actively participating in the commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary. In honor of this significant milestone, patriotically themed banners are being displayed on light poles along Collins Avenue. The city has also produced a special commemorative magnetic pin featuring the America 250 logo. Residents can receive a complimentary pin by presenting their Resident ID Card at the Government Center, Pelican Community Park, or the Welcome Center at Gateway Center. In addition to the decorations, the History Hall at the Government Center is featuring a special digital video installation that highlights the nation’s history. This celebration provides an opportunity for the community to reflect on the nation’s past and look toward the future. The City Commission also issued an official proclamation to recognize America 250. Upcoming city events include a City Commission Workshop on July 14, 2026, to review the agenda and a community beach cleanup on July 18, 2026.
Luxury Real Estate and New Construction Continue to Shape the Skyline
The skyline of Sunny Isles Beach continues to be transformed by the development of ultra luxury residential projects. Significant attention is being given to branded residences, which associate the properties with high end non real estate brands. A prime example is the Bentley Residences, which is currently under construction and expected to be completed in late 2026 or early 2027. This development will feature a unique car elevator, the ‘Dezervator’, allowing residents to park their vehicles directly in their own units. Another prominent project is the St. Regis Residences, a two tower condominium development that reinforces the trend of hospitality branded properties in the city. These new constructions are positioned at the top of the market, focusing on brand identity, ambitious design, and premium amenities to attract a global clientele. The city’s official website lists several other approved major development projects, including the 62 story Miami Beach Club condominium.
Beach and Ocean Conditions
Beachgoers in Sunny Isles Beach can expect warm water and should be mindful of marine life. The ocean water temperature is a very warm 86.9°F (30.5°C). The daily report from the Ocean Rescue Division on July 11th indicated green flags, signifying calm conditions, but also purple flags to warn of the presence of jellyfish. The surf is expected to be minimal, with wave heights around two to three feet. The swimming season in Sunny Isles Beach is year round, with water temperatures consistently comfortable for swimming. For real time views of the beach, the public can access the live beach cams at the Newport Fishing Pier through the city’s website.
