The City of Sunny Isles Beach has recently launched a new bus app to make transportation around the city more convenient for residents and visitors. In other city matters, new regulations regarding motorized scooters have been approved, restricting their use to individuals 16 years of age and older to enhance safety. We are proud to announce that Vice Mayor Jeniffer Viscarra has been honored with a 2026 Home Rule Hero Award by the Florida League of Cities for her dedicated advocacy during the legislative session. Residents are invited to participate in a community beach cleanup on Saturday, May 16th, to help keep our beautiful coastline pristine. Also on May 16th, the Miami Dade County Tax Collector’s Office will be holding a mobile driver license event in the city.
Real Estate and Construction Updates
A significant new development is on the horizon for Sunny Isles Beach. The City Commission has given its approval for the construction of a 62 story oceanfront condominium tower located at 19051 Collins Avenue. This impressive structure, set to become the tallest building in the city, will replace the current Miami Beach Club. The project is a joint venture between The Related Group, Dezer Development, and BH Group. The tower will feature 145 luxury residential units. This development represents a major investment in the city’s future, with construction costs estimated at approximately 294 million dollars.
